Eric pushed himself up into sitting position as he pulled on his boxer on the edge of the bed. He turned back to see his girlfriend still asleep, a smile gracing her parted her lips, and her nose scrunching in an adorable fashion. He didn’t want to leave the bed. One, it was late, two, he would rather have his arms wrapped around her and his nose pressed in her hair. But the person knocking at the door was adamant on not leaving until someone answered. Nell and him had been together around for the last month, no one from the team knew about it so far, and the entire time he had felt like he was dreaming because everything so far had been perfect.
He scratched the back of his head as he made his way to the door, most of Nell’s neighbors knew who he was by now. “I’m coming,” he called out as the person knocked again. He opened door while rubbing his eyes, but he froze when he saw who it was. “Kensi! uh, what- what are you doing here?” his mouth gaped, and he stumbled over his next choice of words before deciding just to remain quiet. Glancing down, his cheeks began to burn as he realized he was only wearing boxers.
“Nell and I had plans to go out, is she here?” Kensi narrowed her eyes at the tech.
“Uh, um,” They had never discussed what they would say if they got caught by one of the team, or what they would say if one of them was interrogated alone by the team, and of course it had to be me he thought.
“Eric, who are you talking to?” Nell’s arms snaked around him, “Come back to- Kensi?” Nell jumped back, her eyes wide, as her brain for once faltered for an answer, she glanced to Eric for help before realizing he was in the same situation. Remembering she was only in his hoodie, she hid behind him more. “What are- oh crap I forgot.” Nell felt her cheeks darken, she was suppose to go out drinking with Kensi, but Eric had shown up and she had totally forgotten.
“What exactly is happening here- or should I ask how long has it been happening?” Kensi asked, as she placed a hand on her hip.
They both looked to each other, a month had been a good run. Nell sighed then nudged Eric with a slight smile, “Come in, I’ll go put some pants on.”
